LumenVeritatis is being rebuilt from primary sources. You are viewing a pre-launch preview. Each claim is being re-cited to the standard of the rebuild before public launch.

Support the Work

Alms for a reference that belongs to the Church and to those who seek her

An offering, not a purchase

LumenVeritatis will never have a paywall, a subscription tier, or advertising. The reference is free because the reference is a work of mercy — spiritual, in the language of the tradition: to instruct the ignorant, to counsel the doubtful, to answer the adversary. A reader in need of the truth does not need a credit card to reach it.

For those who have been helped by this work and who wish to help it continue, we accept alms. We call it alms, and not donation, because the word means what it does. Alms are given out of one's own substance, to God, through those who do His work. The giver is the one who gains.

What alms support

  • The writing. Articles at the standard of this site take time — hours of reading primary sources, hours of drafting, hours of self-review against the five gates. Alms free that time.
  • Hosting and tooling. Servers, domain, the technical work of keeping the reference online and fast.
  • Speaker events. A stated long-term goal is to fund visits to Catholic schools — classical academies, parish schools, and others — to speak on the life of Bl. Carlos Acutis, on the use of primary sources in forming the faith, and on answering the arguments the students actually hear.
  • Acquisitions. Some reference works worth citing — critical editions, recent Magisterial scholarship — are not free. Alms extend the corpus.

Transparency

We intend to publish a quarterly ledger on this page: categories, amounts, a plain account of where the alms went. A reference that demands its own citations be verifiable should hold itself to the same standard in its finances.

How to give

Alms infrastructure is being set up. Until the donation provider is live, no giving mechanism is published on this page. We would rather leave this blank for a few weeks than put up a placeholder button that might fail, or that might give the impression of an active collection we have not yet set up properly.

When it is live, you will see here: a one-time option, a recurring option, and a line item for the Speaker Fund specifically, in case a reader wishes to direct alms to a school visit.

If you cannot give

Read the articles. Send them to a friend who asked the question. Pray for the work and for the soul of a reader somewhere who is reading this site tonight instead of the thing that would have otherwise been in front of them.
